JD Music’s Unsigned Spotlight
Nuclear Lullaby, Cardiff. This month’s blog is a few days late as I’ve been planning my very first gig, which is a fundraiser for children with cancer. I’ll tell you all about that closer to the time, but I will say it features 3 very exciting Welsh rock bands (including this month’s spotlight band), so watch this space. So, who do we have this month? Well I’m going to introduce you to Cardiff’s Nuclear Lullaby. “This is an album that showcases a band that has so much to offer and will not disappoint” so says James Wilson on myrandomjukebox.com and other reviews are equally as complimentary.
Nuclear Lullaby consists of: Brad Hunter – Vocals/lead guitar Charlie Sale – Guitar Leo Polisena – Bass Conor Wilkinson - Drums
The band formed in 2014 and have played a number of gigs and festivals in their short existence and produced an album, Keppoch 59, which was released in January of this year. The album features a variety of songs under the umbrella ‘Alternative Rock’ but which all have their own unique vibe. For example, track one ‘Upgrade’, would suit grunge fans and would not sound amiss on a Nirvana album whereas track three ‘Zeus’ has a late ‘60s/early ‘70s psychedelic summery festival vibe. As I state on the JD Music website, Nuclear Lullaby are an addictive mixture of melodies, grunge and psychedelia with catchy riffs and seductive vocals. I started working with them (which I was really excited about) in April and they’ve already had a fair amount of radio play and are gathering rave reviews, the links to which can be found on the band’s JD Music page: http://www.jdmusicpromo.com/nuclear-lullaby/4593790067 The band have a number of gigs coming up in the next few months (including my fundraising gig in September) which are listed on their website and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nuclearlullabyoffical/ http://www.nuclearlullaby.co.uk Their other social networking links, if you want to give them a ‘follow’ are: https://twitter.com/nuclear_lullaby https://www.instagram.com/nuclearlullaby/ Check out their Bandcamp for the album and demos of the tracks, which are grittier and equally as impressive as the final album versions: https://nuclear-lullaby.bandcamp.com/ The band released their first ever video (‘Zeus’) a couple of days ago too, so it’s all happening for Wales’ newest rock heartthrobs.
