Gig Guide July 2027
Welcome to the RT Rock Show Gig Guide for July. It's looking like a fairly busy month ahead with a lot of amazing local gigs scattered through the month. The usual suspects of Fuel, Sin City, The Pit, Tramshed, Globe and The Duke all putting on awesome shows along with free shows at the likes of The Office and The Masons, a few corkers in Bristol and the month sandwiched end to end with top notch local festivals! Phew... Julys Gigs
First up is the one that is literally first up right at the start of the month and that's the Seven Sins Festival 2017 at Sin City in Swansea.
This years edition of the festival is looking to be the best yet. Put together by the amazingly tireless duo of Mark and Krissy Christiansen at Total Entertainment South Wales and hosted by top Swansea live music venue Sin City it's takes place on the 1st and 2nd of July.
Split over two days and over two stages it's an incredibly varied lineup of bands. The RT Rock Show are proud to sponsor the second stage on the Saturday and Big Jim and The Rock Show are sponsoring the second stage on the Sunday. Headliners Florence Black are rock n roll megastars in the making and will no doubt end the show with a bang whilst Falling Red, another rock n roll band taking over the world will bring the Saturday to a close. The RT Rock Show stage are headlined by awesome Control The Storm and The Big Jim Rock Show stage are headlined by Lilith And The Knight.
We also have sleaze rock from Forever Vendetta, Thrash metal from Helldown and Spreading The Disease, Alt Rock from Digital Criminals, Power Metal from Dakesis and Proscenium to mention a few.
Special mention goes to the bands on The RT Rock Show Stage - Control The storm are a female fronted melodic metal band from Bristol who deal in soaring vocals over duel guitar melodies and a pounding rhythm to produce uplifting memorable melodic metal songs that will get the crowd pumping. Syteria are an energetic female fronted rock band from Yorkshire. Featuring Jackie Chambers from Girlschool, the band are similar in that they write awesome rock n roll tunes that will get you headbanging and leave with a smile on your face. Pretty Little Enemy are a female fronted Alt Metal band hailing from Somerset. Big on the riffs and grooves to get you moving, you'll want to be down the front for the '2 bros 2 hoes'. Last but not least are Flowerpot. An alternative rock group from Bristol, expect a wide range of rhythms and melodies delivered in an energetic and unique way. Doors open early and the bands kick off from 14:30 each day so get down there early and enjoy a truly awesome festival!

Secondly we look at the other big festival of the month - Steelhouse Festival 2017! Seven years in, the festival is now cemented in its place as one of the top rock festivals in the U.K. Located 'up the mountain' at the Hafod - Y - Dafal farm in Ebbw Vale, it's a great established local festival.
The lineup this year is a varied one. Know mainly as a rock festival, the headliners this year have a metal edge to them. Newport ragga metallers Skindred end the Saturday and British metal institution Saxon close the fest on Sunday. The rest of the festival follows in the rock tradition with the likes of new blues rock legends in making Rival Sons, Dio inspired Last In Line, Iron Maiden legend Steve Harris' British Lion, Canadian riffers Monster Truck and energetic rockers Inglorious amongst others. Special mention goes to local rockers Florence Black who seem to be taking over the UK and the awesome Texas Flood who we had on the show a few weeks back and are well deserving of a place on the bill. The festival goes from strength to strength and it's one we're looking forward to attending again this year.

Head over to Sin City on the 3rd for a bit of bonkers 'rockgrass' from Hayseed Dixie. On their 17th year, the band have carved out a niche for themselves and are still going stronger than ever. Originally a bluegrass style AC/DC cover band, they have expanded to covering many rock and metal classics in their own unique style along with doing a lot of original material. Always a fun show so don't miss out!

The guys at Eradication have been hard at work as usual bringing the best in extreme metal to South Wales and giving a platform to local bands. Two shows to mention this month are - On the 5th at Fuel Rock Club in Cardiff we have a headline show from Agrona. The Cardiff based Black metal band are on the rise and are surely have big things in their future. Having seen the band live before it's an experience I would recommend, they completely blew me away. Strong material played tight as hell and with passion, it'll leave you feeling like you've had a boot in the face but in a good way! Support comes from Cardiff death sludgers Tides Of Sulfur, Cardiff/Bristol post black metallers Levitas, London Tolkien inspired black metallers Trolls In The Mist and awesome local Swansea death metallers Sepulchre. Then on the 9th we have Seprevation heading up a great looking show at The Duke in Neath. Healing from Bristol, Seprevation are an evil sounding death metal band with elements of thrash, black and heavy metal that tick all the boxes for those who enjoy it heavy. Support comes from Leeds Sci-Fi prog death metallers Cryptic Shift and Cumbrian old school death metallers Repulsive Vision.

Head over to Sin City in Swansea on the 25th for a great bit of rock n roll courtesy of legendary frontman Mr Graham Bonnet. The ex Rainbow singer will be bringing his band to Swansea on his latest tour to plug his latest album 'The Book' which is out now on Frontiers Records. Expect a top notch show by a long time professional. Support comes from London based Trad/Melodic/power metal band Evyltyde and Cardiff based hard rockers Beth Blade And The Beautiful Disasters.
Check out our Graham Bonnet competition to win free tickets for this gig!

Last but not least we'd like to give a mention to the Women Of Rock Tour 2017 that will be making its way to The Pit in Swansea on the 28th. It is a night of female fronted rock and metal music featuring some amazing bands. The Digital Criminals are a local alternative rock band with a mixed bag of influences that result in a style all of their own. Memorable songs delivered with panache and a great live show that gets all the crowd going, they're a band that are definitely going places. Scarsun are an alt metal/rock band from the valleys who, with their ever evolving style and passionate delivery from frontwoman Jessica Irving, are sure to turn a few heads. The Boom Sons are from the Rhondda and have a style that is described as 'funky rock, heavy grooves, smooth licks with a heavy ass tinge of rock'. The rock trio are 'a band of a new breed' and a sure to put on a great show. Rounding off the bill is Toriah Fontaine, a Cardiff based blues vocalist with a jazz influence and a bucket full of soul.
Tickets are £3 on the door too!
