Gig Guide August 2017

Welcome to The RT Rock Show Gig Guide blog for August 2017! First of all I must note how quiet it looks for the month. Whether it's the amount of awesome gigs we've had recently or just the norm for the summer I don't know but rest assured, there is plenty to get your teeth into. On August 4th in Fuel Rock Club Cardiff we have an awesome looking show just dripping with rock n' roll. I am of course talking about Tyla's Dogs D'Amour with support from Nicotine Pretty. The Dogs D'Amour need no introduction to anyone even remotely interested in rock n'roll. Formed all the way back in 1983 in London, the band have gone through many changes over the years but it's frontman Tyla J. Pallas who has kept the band rocking. With a great band of musicians behind him, Tyla is recording a new album and hitting the road again. And with a set list voted on by the fans, you can be certain of a show to remember! Support comes from Nicotine Pretty. Local lads from Bridgend, they play a rock n' roll with punk attitude and a power pop catchiness to their songs. They released their debut single 'Who's Gonna Save My Soul' in April and recently the followup 'Nicotine Pretty'. As great as the band sound on record, it's live on stage where they really shine and with Tyla's Dogs D'Amour it's the perfect pairing! The show has been put together by Crazy Cowboy Live Events. Check them out online for more great shows 🎸🤘

Next up is a cracker featuring some thrash metal legends. At Hobo's in Bridgend on August the 10th we have the excellent Death Angel with support from Warbringer and Sodomized Cadaver. One of the originals from the Bay Area US thrash scene, Death Angel are a band with a legacy. We're all familiar with the classics - The Ultra-Voilence and Frolic Through The Park to name a few. But it's the new album that they are touring on the back of. 2016's 'The Evil Divide' is both instantly recognisable as Death Angel and yet pushes the band even further in terms of high end song writing, playing and production.

Signed to Nuclear Blast, the band are a well oiled live machine and fronted by the ever enthusiastic Mark Osegueda, they're definitely ones to catch. Support comes from Warbringer. An established US thrash band themselves, they're part of the new wave of awesome bands that hit the scene post 2000. Currently touring in support of their fifth album 'Woe To The Vanquished' on Century Media, Warbringer could easily headline Hobo's themselves.

Also on the bill are Welsh death metal maniacs Sodomized Cadaver. If you haven't seen these guys yet then you're missing out (and likely been living in a cave)! An awesome slab of death metal like a cricket bat to the face. They'll leave your head ringing and no doubt about it! It's an unmissable show for the metal maniacs out there 🤘
